The North Korean officials are not responding to any of the efforts the US government is putting into getting their soldiers back. Pvt. Travis King, the first known American detained in North Korea, was on his journey back to Fort Bliss, Texas, shortly after serving a sentence of imprisonment in South Korea for assault, but walked into North Korea while taking an overview of the bordering hamlet of Panmunjom with a group of civilians.
The countries are still not at peace after the 1950-1953 war between the US and North Korea. And while the country is waiting for the King’s comeback, experts say North Korea will likely not return him anytime soon.
