Russia will test its new COVID-19 vaccine on 40,000 people next week. During a press briefing, Kirill Dmitriev said they would do the test in several countries. He heads the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

Dmitriev also told the press that Russia would test its vaccine in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines. They would also check it in Brazil or India. However, experts worry that Russia approved the vaccine too quickly. They also fear that Russia didn’t share vaccine research data.
Russia Answering Western Criticism on Sputnik V
In response to the West, Russia would publish a paper in a relevant scientific journal this month. Dmitriev believes this publication will answer Western concerns and criticism. However, Dmitriev didn’t say how many people have already received the vaccine.
Clinical Trials for Sputnik V
Russia hopes to check whether Sputnik V works in epidemic situations. The country also said that they want to cooperate with other countries. During the test, subjects will receive two doses of the vaccine. Earlier, Russia had approved its COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, for public use.
Thirty vaccines are already undergoing testing, the WHO said. The WHO also said Sputnik V was still in the Phase 1 stage.
