COVID-19 Outbreaks in US Schools

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States is nearing 6 million cases.

The University of Alabama has logged 1,200 cases on Saturday. These numbers stretch back to the opening of classes last August 19.

Dayton University will return to online classes after reporting 264 cases on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, Providence College suspended 17 students for breaking safety measures. CNN reports that the suspension bans the students from entering the campus until they attend a hearing.

On Sunday, Temple University is also returning to online classes after recording 103 cases on campus.

How to Combat COVID-19

Dr. Deborah Birx has stressed that people should not rely on a vaccine against COVID-19. They have to protect themselves and other people, too.

To fight COVID-19, you should wear masks and avoid crowds. If you go to a private event, you should always assume that one or more guests may have the virus. So, always wear masks, even indoors. If you don’t, you risk spreading the virus to your family and neighbors when you go home.

COVID-19 in the United States

California has now recorded over 700,000 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. In the state, the virus has killed 12,894 people. The state leads the nation in overall COVID-19 cases. According to CNN’s tracker, COVID-19 has infected 5,997,050 people in the US, killing 183,068.
