2020 Won’t Get You Down if You Follow These Coping Tips

This year could be overwhelming if you don’t know how to cope, so here are some tips to help you weather 2020 a lot better.

This year threatens to overwhelm us all. With the pandemic, social unrest, and climate change, among others, we can’t seem to take a break.  However, all this trouble doesn’t mean you have to skip out on your health. Cope with the stress of 2020 with these tips.

Get Active

Exercise can clear your mind and body of stress. So, even though you can’t leave the house much, you should still try to get active. CNN says that getting up to move even if it’s a hassle can improve your health.

But how do you exercise during the pandemic? The CDC says that socially distanced outdoor walks are the way to go if you want to exercise.

You can also enter Zoom fitness classes or download workout apps. Even at home, you can still work up a sweat.

Get Better Sleep

If you get better sleep habits, you’ll also reduce your stress and improve your mood. Moreover, good sleeping habits protect your heart and boost brainpower. You also won’t feel the urge to stress-eat.

However, good sleeping habits doesn’t mean sleeping in more often. Make sure to give your body enough sleep cycles to restore its worn-down parts. Sleep cycles involve moving from light sleep to deep sleep and back again.

Be More Optimistic

No matter what’s going on, you can still be optimistic in 2020. You just have to learn to practice being grateful. If you practice gratitude often, you’ll be happier. If you’re happier, you’ll enjoy better heart health, a robust immune system, and a lower risk of dying.

List down every good thing that happened to you every day. Keep a journal where you imagine a better life for yourself. Teach yourself to have hope.
